How do I download Louis Fourteen?
Louis Fourteen can be downloaded in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Since we recommend downloading the app on one device, ensure the device you download Louis Fourteen on is the one you regularly use.
How do I set up a Louis Fourteen account?
Louis Fourteen is available to access by invitation only. In order to set up your account, you must have an active phone number that is connected to one of the supported devices (any device newer than iOS 5+ and Android 6).
I have a friend that wants to download the Louis Fourteen app, how do I invite them?
Louis Fourteen is available by invitation only. To apply for membership, please visit louisfourteen.com/contact-us.
What is the minimum age required to gain membership to Louis Fourteen?
All users must be 18 years old or older in order to be approved for membership to Louis Fourteen.
Where is Louis Fourteen available?
Louis Fourteen is available for membership worldwide. You can use Louis Fourteen on any device newer than iOS 5+ and Android 6.
Can I use Louis Fourteen if I’m not in a major city?
Yes, Louis Fourteen services members globally regardless of their location.
Can I use Louis Fourteen while I’m traveling internationally?
Yes, Louis Fourteen is available to use anywhere in the world and makes for a great travel assistant.

How do I format messages in chat?
To format messages within chat, use the following formatting options:
To bold your message, place an asterisk on both sides of the text, like so: *text*
To italicize your message, place an underscore on both sides of the text, like so: _text_
To strikethrough your message, place a tilde on both sides of the text, like so: ~text~
How do I send photos, videos or documents to my lifestyle specialist?
To send multimedia files or documents in Louis Fourteen:
Go to Chat > Tap ‘Attached’ next to the text field.
Choose the type of media you’d like to send by selecting one of the following:
• Tap the camera icon to take a new photo or video with your camera. Note: videos that are recorded using Louis Fourteen are limited to 16MB.
• Choose ‘Photo & Video Library’ to select a photo or video from your camera roll or another album on your device. You can also tap ‘Add’ at the bottom left to select multiple photos or videos at once.
• Choose ‘Document’ to select a document from iCloud Drive or other doc apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, etc. Sending a document is only available for users on iOS 8 and later. The maximum allowed file size is 100 MB.
• Tap ‘Send’ to share with your lifestyle specialist.
Note: In order to send media, documents, or location you will need to grant the Louis Fourteen permission to access your phone’s Location Services, Contacts, Photos and Camera. This can be done by going into your device Settings, selecting Louis Fourteen in the list of applications and adjusting privacy settings.
How do I send voice messages in Louis Fourteen?
To send a voice message:
Go to Chat > Tap and hold the microphone and start speaking. Once finished, remove your finger from the microphone icon. It’s important to note that the voice message will send automatically once your finger is lifted from the microphone icon. If you’d like to cancel a voice message you can slide the audio recording to the left before lifting your finger from the microphone icon.
How do I record a longer voice message?
To record a longer voice message: Go to Chat > Tap and hold the microphone and start speaking. Slide up to lock handsfree recording. Once finished, tap ‘Send’ to deliver the message to your lifestyle specialist. While recording a longer voice message, you can tap ‘Cancel’ to delete it.
What is a live location?
The live location feature allows you to share your real-time location for a specific window of time. In order to use this feature, you need to make sure your location permissions for Louis Fourteen are turned on.
To turn this on:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Louis Fourteen > Select Always.

You can control whether and for how long you share you live location at any time. You can also stop sharing your live location at any time.
Please note, live location is an end-to-end encrypted feature, which mean no one can see your live location except your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist.
How do I share my live location?
To share your live location:
Go to Chat > Tap ‘Attach’ > Location > Share Live Location From there you can select the length of time you’d like to share your live location and tap ‘Send’. Your live location will automatically stop being shared after the predetermined amount of time has expired.

To stop sharing your live location:
Go to Chat > tap ‘Stop Sharing’ > Stop Sharing.
How long is my chat history stored?
In order to best serve you, your chat history will be stored by your lifestyle specialist for up to 6 months. These chats allow your lifestyle specialist to refer back in order to better serve you and allow for contextualized conversations rather than starting fresh each chat.
SERENDIPITY
What is the serendipity section?
The serendipity section is a collection of curated offers selected specially for each Louis Fourteen member. In this section you will have access to a personalized selection of restaurants, experiences, products, and more.
How are offers in my serendipity section curated for me?
Offers in the serendipity section of the app are based on the information you share with your lifestyle specialist, including prior requests, transaction and visited cities. Louis Fourteen’s proprietary technology uses this information to curate personalized offers that we believe you may enjoy.
How can I get more personalized offers?
The more you interact with your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist the more we are able to learn about you, your habits and your preferences, resulting in increasingly tailored offers that align with your taste and needs.
What if I see an offer I like/want?
If you see an offer you like or want more information about, tapping either the ‘Ask About This Offer’ button or the ‘Book/Purchase’ button towards the bottom of your screen. Both options will bring you into the chat with your lifestyle specialist.
I see an offer I like, but some of the details do not work for me. How do I change the details of an offer?
You can inquire or change the details of any offer in the serendipity section by simply tapping on the ‘Ask About This Offer’ button and a Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist we be able to adjust the offer to your liking.
ACCOUNT SETTINGS & PROFILE
How do I edit my account information?
Account information can be updated at any time in the My Account section. Louis Fourteen encourages you to keep this information up-to-date, so that offers in your Serendipity section that accurately align with your location and preferences.
How do I change the email connected to my account?
In order to change your email, speak with your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist within the chat. Here’s a prompt you can use to kick off the conversation about updating your email:

How do I reset my password?
To reset your password within the app:
Go to Password > Enter your current password, the new password you would like to use moving forward and tap ‘Update Password’.
I’m locked out of the app. How do I reset my password from outside of the app?
If you get locked out of Louis Fourteen, tap on the ‘Forgot Password?’ link on the login screen of the app and your password will be emailed to the email address that we have on file.
If you have issues resetting your password on the app, you can contact Louis Fourteen by email: louis@louisfourteen.com. In your email to Louis Fourteen provide your full name, the email address connected to your Louis Fourteen account and username used in the app. Upon verification of this information, a temporary password will be sent to you.
How do I update my preferred payment method?
You are able to store multiple payment methods within the Louis Fourteen app, however should you need to add or remove a payment method, you can: Go to Menu> My Account> and select ‘Add A Payment Method’ at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can input the details for your new payment method.
How do I change my preferred language?
To change your language settings within Louis Fourteen: Go to Menu> My Account> and change your language preferences.
Why are my visited countries relevant?
Louis Fourteen will use your most visited countries to curate personalized offers in the serendipity section of the app. The more locations you add, the more we can personalize the offers in your serendipity section.
How do I turn on notifications/mute notifications?
In order to turn on notifications, you must verify notification settings are turned on both in Louis Fourteen, as well as your in your phone’s settings.
To turn on notifications within the app:
Go to Settings > Scroll to down to ‘Notifications’ and ensure that ‘Show Notifications’ is enabled for messages.
To adjust the vibrations and/or sound alerts for messages you receive or send within the app:
Go to Settings > Notifications > In-App Notifications
To turn on notifications in your phone settings:
Go to Settings > Notifications > select Louis Fourteen.
Set your preferences for alert style, badges, and sounds. If you want notifications to appear when your phone’s display is off, enable ‘Show on Lock Screen’.
To adjust the alert sound volume or vibrate preference: Go to Settings > Sounds. There you can adjust the volume settings and select your vibrate preferences.
Can my Louis Fourteen account be deactivated?
Membership can be terminated at any time by the sole discretion of Louis Fourteen.
SET-UP AND DEVICES
Am I able to use the Louis Fourteen app on multiple phones/devices?
Currently verified members are only able to access Louis Fourteen from one phone number on one device. The reason for this is that when the Louis Fourteen app is installed on multiple devices errors in the chat are more likely to occur as a result of varying data plans and/or available service.
If you attempt to frequently switch your Louis Fourteen account between different devices, you may be blocked from re-verifying your account. This is safeguard in place to protect your privacy and information. Please do not repeatedly switch between different devices and numbers.
What do I do if I get a new phone?
If you switch from one phone to another and keep your phone number, your account information will not change. You can access Louis Fourteen by simply downloading the app on your new device and verifying your phone number.
Please note, you are not able to migrate past messages to different device types (i.e. Android to iPhone).
If you are switching from one type of phone to another, and changing your number, simply download Louis Fourteen on the phone and verify the new phone number.
We strongly recommend deleting your account off of your old device. However, if you do not delete your account and no longer have access to your old phone, you don’t need to worry. If the new owner of your old number activates Louis Fourteen on a new phone after 45 days, all of your account information tied to that phone number will be completely deleted.
What do I do if I change my phone number?
Before you change the phone number connected to your Louis Fourteen account, we recommend you migrate your Louis Fourteen account to the new phone number first. The easiest way to do this is by using our ‘Change Number’ feature. By using this feature, you will be able to migrate your account information.
If you did not migrate your Louis Fourteen account to your new phone number before changing your phone number, please contact us at louis@louisfourteen.com for assistance to connect your account to your new phone number.
What do I do if my phone with Louis Fourteen on it is lost or stolen?
In the unfortunate case that your phone becomes lost or stolen, we can help make sure that no one can use your Louis Fourteen account.
Email us with the phrase: “Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account” in the body of the email, as well as your phone number including the country code (e.g. For U.S.: + 1 408-555-1234) to ensure your account is temporarily disabled.
We also recommend calling your mobile provider as soon as possible to lock your SIM card. Once locked the account will not be verify on that device, since devices must be able to receive SMS or phone calls to verify an account.
Once your SIM card is locked, you may use a new SIM card with the same number to activate Louis Fourteen on your new phone. This is the fastest way to deactivate your account on the stolen phone since Louis Fourteen can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.
Please note that even if the SIM card in your stolen or lost phone is locked and phone service disabled, Louis Fourteen can be accessed using Wi-Fi. This is why it is recommended that you contact us immediately with an account deactivation request.
Remote Louis Fourteen deactivation from another device is not possible.
PRIVACY & SECURITY
How are messages handled/protected in Louis Fourteen?
Your privacy and security is our highest priority, which is why all messages undergo end-to-end encryption. Once encrypted your messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, status updates and calls are secured to ensure your privacy is maintained and only the intended party has access to see what has been sent.
For added protection, every message you send has a unique lock and key.
All of this happens automatically, which means there is no need to adjust additional settings. End-to-end encryption is always activated and there is no way for third-parties to turn off end-to-end encryption.

How do I send messages to my lifestyle specialist?
Message can be sent in the Chat section of the app. Simply tap on the menu in the upper left hand corner of the app to find ‘Chat’ in the navigation menu.
When is my lifestyle specialist available to communicate with?
Louis Fourteen is available for your requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
What kind of photos and video files am I am to share with my lifestyle specialist?
You are able to upload JPG and PDF files to share with your lifestyle specialist.
How do I contact my lifestyle specialist by phone?
In order to call your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist:
1) Go to the About section and you will find the Louis Fourteen phone number that is accessible 24 hours a day.

2) Within the Chat section you can tap the telephone icon in the upper right hand corner, which will connect you to your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist 24 hours a day.

How long will it take to hear from my lifestyle specialist?
Louis Fourteen aims to respond to every member as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us if we do not get back to you immediately as there are times we receive a higher number of requests and inquiries at once.

What are payment options?
Louis Fourteen accepts Amex, Mastercard, Visa and debit cards.
How do I complete a purchase in Louis Fourteen?
In order to complete a purchase, simply tap ‘Purchase’ after selecting an offer. For your security, you will then be asked to enter your CVV to confirm the purchase. Upon completion, a copy of your receipt will be sent to the email address attached to your account.
What can Louis Fourteen purchase for me?
Louis Fourteen will do its best to fulfill any request that you may have.
Do I need to enter my card details every time I make a purchase?
For your convenience your card details are encrypted and stored to make future purchases quick and easy. Purchases are not confirmed until two-step verification has been completed.
What should I do if I need to change or modify my purchase?
The quickest way to get help is to change or modify a purchase is to contact your lifestyle specialist.
How is my card charged?
Your card is charged through our PCI-compliant payment gateway upon two-step verification using you CVV code.
What happens if there’s a purchase error?
Should you have difficulty with a purchase, please contact your Louis Fourteen lifestyle specialist in the chat or speak to them directly by tapping the telephone icon in the upper right hand corner of the chat.
BILLING & USAGE
Is it free to send messages through Louis Fourteen?
Louis Fourteen uses your phone’s internet connection (4G/3G/2G/EDGE or Wi-Fi, as available) to send and receive messages to lifestyle specialist. You do not have to pay for every message. As long as you have not exceeded your data limit or you are connected to a free Wi-Fi network, your carrier should not charge you extra for messaging through the Louis Fourteen app.
What if I have questions or concerns about a specific charge?
If you have any questions or concerns about charges made in Louis Fourteen, contact your lifestyle specialist in chat.
TROUBLESHOOTING
How do I update my Louis Fourteen app?
For Android, search for Louis Fourteen in the Google Play Store app and tap Update. For iPhone, search for Louis Fourteen in the App Store and tap Update.
Note: If you received a message, but your version of Louis Fourteen doesn’t support it, please update the app.
How do I enable push notifications?

When you initially install Louis Fourteen, your mobile device will prompt you to grant permissions for notifications to be delivered to your device. If you aren’t sure what you pressed or you accidentally pressed ‘Don’t Allow’, you can turn notifications on within your phone settings. To turn on notifications:

iPhone Instructions:
• Navigate to Settings > Notifications
• Scroll to find Louis Fourteen
• Ensure notifications are enable (toggle will be green)

Android Instructions:

• Swipe down from the top of your screen to reveal the  Notifications box
• Tap ‘Settings ‘ icon in the top right corner (looks like a gear)
• Scroll down to locate and tap the ‘ Notifications’  button
• Toggle the slider to enable/disable notifications

Why am I not getting notifications?
Make sure your notification settings are on your device:
Go to Settings > Notifications > Louis Fourteen and change preferences.

How do I reinstall Louis fourteen?
To reinstall Louis Fourteen simply go to the Apple or Android store and search for “Louis Fourteen”. Once found hit download and re-enter your login information.
What do I do if I’m having issues verifying my phone number?
If you are having problems, please check the following:
• You have the latest version of Louis Fourteen installed.
• You have entered your full international phone number, including the country code (or select your country from the country list). An example of a US phone number is: +1 408-555-1234.
• Omit any leading zeros (0s) or exit codes from your number.
• Ensure your phone has full Internet access with a strong signal.
• Your phone is not roaming.
• Your phone can receive international SMS messages.
• You are not using an unsupported device such as an iPod Touch or iPad.
• Your device is not jailbroken.
What happens once I input the phone number of the device I’d like to connect to Louis Fourteen?
After you enter your phone number an SMS will be delivered to your phone. The SMS will contain a 6-digit verification code, which you’ll need to enter on the verification screen in the app. The verification code is unique and changes each time you verify a new phone number or device.
What happens if I don’t receive a code via SMS when I sign up?
If you do not receive your code via SMS, our automated system can call you with your code. Please wait for the five minute timer to finish counting down and do not edit your number during this time. After the five minutes, tap ‘Call Me’.
I’m having problems sending and receiving messages. How do I fix this?
The most common reason why you can’t send or receive messages from your lifestyle specialist is a bad Internet connection. Learn how to troubleshoot connection issues by reading the section on connection problems below.
I’m having issues connecting to Louis Fourteen. How do I fix this?
If you can’t connect to Louis Fourteen, this is usually caused by a problem with your Internet connection or your phone’s settings.
Most connection issues can be resolved by doing the following:
• Restart your phone, or turn it off and on.
• Update Louis Fourteen to the latest version available on the Apple App Store.
• Open iPhone Settings > toggle to turn Airplane Mode on and off.
• Open iPhone Settings > tap Cellular > toggle to turn Cellular Data on.
• Open iPhone Settings > tap Wi-Fi > toggle to turn Wi-Fi off and on.
• Try connecting to different Wi-Fi hotspots.
• Make sure Wi-Fi stays on during sleep mode.
• Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
• Contact your mobile provider and make sure your APN settings are configured correctly.
• Open iPhone Settings > tap General > Reset> Reset Network Settings > Reset Network Settings. (This will delete all your saved Wi-Fi passwords).
• Upgrade or restore your iPhone’s operating system to the latest version for your phone.
• If you’re using an unlocked iPhone or a pre-paid SIM card, you might need to adjust your phone’s APN settings for your SIM card. Contact your wireless carrier for details and instructions.
• If you’re having trouble connecting to Louis Fourteen while on a Wi-Fi network that you don’t normally connect to, contact the network administrator.
• If you’re on a campus or corporate Wi-Fi that has firewall restrictions in place, contact the network administrator.
Why are photos blurry in my chat?
A photo may appear blurry if Louis Fourteen can no longer find it on your device or SD card. This usually happens if the photo is deleted from your device or SD card.
Once a photo is downloaded on to your device, it cannot be re-downloaded, so you would have to ask your lifestyle specialist to send it to you again.
